Umut Güneş — Biography
Umut Güneş was born on 16 March 2000 in Albstadt, Germany, and holds dual German-Turkish citizenship. Standing 1.77 m tall, he plays as a central midfielder and began his senior career in Germany before moving into Turkish football with Alanyaspor.
He transferred from Alanyaspor to Trabzonspor in September 2023 and spent more than a season with the club before signing for İstanbul Başakşehir in February 2025. Güneş has also represented Turkey's under-21 side and has spoken of his ambition to one day earn a call-up to the senior national team.
