Ümit Türkoğlu — Biography

Ümit Türkoğlu (born 22 October 1981 in İzmir) is a Turkish basketball player. He plays as a center and stands 2.10 m tall. (The height value recorded in Wikidata is corrupt; the figure given here follows the encyclopedic sources.)

He came through the junior ranks at Tofaş, then played for Konyaspor and Kuşadasıspor in the amateur section of the Turkish Basketball Second League. His professional career began at Banvit in 2004, where he spent three seasons. He later appeared for Erdemirspor (2009-10), Türk Telekom (2010-11) and Maliye Milli Piyango (2011-12). In the summer of 2015 he signed for TB2L side Best Balıkesir, where he spent the closing stage of his career.

Türkoğlu earned sixteen caps for the Turkish national team, having first been called up in 2006.
