Ümit Kayıhan — Biography

Ümit Kayıhan (28 February 1954, İzmir - 6 June 2018, İzmir) was a Turkish footballer and football manager.

After his playing career he moved into coaching and, over the years, managed a large number of Anatolian clubs, which made him one of the managers most closely identified with Turkish provincial football; the list of teams he led was widely reprinted in the reports that followed his death.

He died on 6 June 2018 at the age of 64, with the Turkish press reporting pneumonia as the cause. The funeral held the following day drew a large turnout from the football community, and the Turkish Football Federation also announced his death.
