Ümit Birol — Biography
Ümit Birol (26 January 1963 in Samsun - 10 July 2023 in Adana) was a Turkish football player and manager who played as a midfielder.
During his playing career he featured for clubs including Altay, Fenerbahçe, Eskişehirspor and Erzurumspor. He was capped once for the Turkey national team and was a squad member at the 1987 Mediterranean Games. After retiring from playing he worked as a manager.
Birol died of a heart attack in Adana on 10 July 2023, at the age of 60; his death was mourned across the Turkish football community.
