Tunahan Taşçı — Biography
Muhammet Tunahan Taşçı is a footballer of Turkish descent who grew up in the Netherlands, plays as a winger and reached the Süper Lig in Turkey. He came through Ajax's academy, played in the Dutch professional leagues with Fortuna Sittard and MVV, and joined Konyaspor in July 2024. He describes his style of play as unique and "different from others".
He began at the age of four at the local club VV Union, then trained at Vitesse and NEC, and in 2019 moved to Ajax on a two-year contract. He made his professional debut on 30 August 2020 for Jong Ajax, as a late substitute against Roda JC in the Eerste Divisie. In September 2021 he joined Fortuna Sittard and played for the under-21 side; his first-team debut came on 2 October 2022 against Volendam in the Eredivisie. The same month he started for the first time, in the KNVB Cup against his former club NEC, and in March 2023 he extended his contract to 2026. On a season-long loan at MVV in 2023-24 he played in the Eerste Divisie, and on 8 September 2023 he scored his first professional goal against Willem II.
On 9 July 2024 he signed a three-year deal with Konyaspor. At youth level he represented Turkey until 2020. He credits his technique to the street football he played on the Johan Cruyff Court in Nijmegen against players of different ages; he grew up an Ajax fan, drawn to their attacking approach, and modelled himself on Hakim Ziyech, David Neres and Quincy Promes.
