Tuna Aktürk — Biography

Tuna Aktürk was born on 22 September 1977 in Balıkesir and graduated in 1999 with a civil engineering degree from Balıkesir University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

Aktürk is Veta Yapı's largest shareholder and sits on its board; he also built a career in local politics, winning a seat on Balıkesir's municipal council on the MHP ticket in the 2009 local elections and going on to serve as deputy mayor overseeing technical affairs. In 2010 he was named president of Balıkesirspor, newly promoted to the second division, and was re-elected at the club's general assemblies in 2013 and 2014; under his leadership the team advanced from the second tier to the Süper Lig. He stepped down without seeking re-election at an extraordinary general assembly during the 2015-16 season.
