Tümer Metin — Biography

Tümer Metin (born 14 October 1974 in Kozlu, Zonguldak Province) is a Turkish former international footballer and television pundit. A left-sided attacking midfielder standing 1.74 m, he began in the local game with Zonguldakspor.

He joined Samsunspor in 1997 and spent four seasons there before moving to Beşiktaş in 2001 alongside İlhan Mansız, making more than 100 appearances and winning the Süper Lig. In 2006 he transferred to Fenerbahçe and won the title again, becoming a champion with both clubs. He later played in Greece for Larissa and closed his career at Kerkyra. Most sources credit him with 7 goals in 26 caps for Turkey, though a French account gives 5 goals in 14 appearances.

Since retiring he has become one of the most quoted analysts in Turkish football. In May 2026 he made headlines by vouching unreservedly for Fenerbahçe's incoming manager, and his verdicts on Galatasaray's players and on the national team are regularly picked up by the sports press. In December 2025 he spoke publicly about the death of his father, saying it had turned him into "a different man".
