Tolgahan Acar — Biography

Tolgahan Acar was born on 4 June 1986 in Adana, Turkey. A goalkeeper, he was capped by Turkey at under-18, under-19, under-20 and under-21 level.

He began his career at Adanaspor and, after spells with Altınordu, Gaziantepspor and Göztepe, played for Sivasspor. He joined Denizlispor in June 2019 and parted ways with Giresunspor in August 2021, later turning out for third-tier sides including Turgutluspor and Adana 1954.

He has also drawn attention for outspoken comments on the debate over foreign players in Turkish football, telling Sabah in 2017 that what mattered was the quality of foreign signings rather than their number.
