Tolga Ünlü — Biography

Tolga Ünlü was born on 10 September 1989 in Erlenbach am Main, Germany, to a working-class family who had migrated from Adana; he holds both Turkish and German citizenship and plays as a defender. He began his football career in the youth ranks of local amateur clubs and had a successful season in the first team of SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg, in Germany's fifth-tier Hessenliga, before deciding, like many German-raised players of Turkish descent, to try his luck in Turkey, joining Konyaspor's youth academy for the 2010-11 season.

He signed a professional contract with Konyaspor midway through that season and was promoted to the first team, making his official debut in the opening week of the 2011-12 season against Kasımpaşa; he was part of the Konyaspor squad that won the 1. Lig promotion play-off in 2013. He moved to Akhisar Belediyespor for the 2014-15 season, and in later years joined Altay, signing in 2020 and extending his contract in 2022, before transferring to Şanlıurfaspor in January 2024 and to Karşıyaka in the summer of 2025.
