Who by Fire

Who by Fire (original title: Comme le feu) is a 2024 Canadian-French drama film written and directed by Philippe Lesage. Shot in French, it follows Jeff, a film-loving teenager who spends a vacation with the family of his best friend Max at a remote log cabin deep in the woods. Invited as a guest of Blake Cadieux, a celebrated director he idolizes, Jeff experiences intense emotions while secretly harboring feelings for his friend's older sister Aliocha.

As the stay unfolds, Jeff becomes a witness to the adults' rivalry and sometimes hurtful power dynamics, and Cadieux proves far from the mentor figure he had hoped for. The cast includes Noah Parker, Aurélia Arandi-Longpré, Arieh Worthalter and Irène Jacob. The 161-minute film had its world premiere on 17 February 2024 in the Generation 14plus section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix of the International Jury.
