The Sleazy Uncle (original title Lo zio indegno) is a 1989 Italian comedy directed by Franco Brusati. The cast is led by Vittorio Gassman and Giancarlo Giannini, with Stefania Sandrelli and Kim Rossi Stuart among the supporting players. Gassman's turn as Uncle Luca became the film's most talked-about element and earned him the Nastro d'Argento for Best Actor, one of Italy's most prestigious film honors. The screenplay was written jointly by Leonardo Benvenuti, Piero De Bernardi and Brusati himself. Shot in Italian with a running time of about 105 minutes, the picture was distributed internationally under its English title.
