The Rose Garden

The Rose Garden is a 1989 drama directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Fons Rademakers. It opens with the case of Aaron Reichenbach, a Holocaust survivor who assaults an elderly man at Frankfurt Airport, and follows the public defender Gabriele Schlüter-Freund as she gradually uncovers the truth: the man he attacked is a former Nazi officer, and Aaron is one of the victims of the atrocities committed in the concentration camps. Bringing to light Nazi crimes against children, the film stars Liv Ullmann and Maximilian Schell, with Özay Fecht also among the cast.
