The Happy Road

The Happy Road is a 1957 French-American comedy directed by and starring Gene Kelly, with Barbara Laage, Michael Redgrave and Bobby Clark among the principal cast. The story follows two students who run away from school and the efforts of their respective parents to track them down. As the search carries the adults along the roads of France, an unexpected bond develops between them. Filmed in English as a co-production between the two countries, the picture received the Golden Globe for Best Film Promoting International Understanding.
