The Children of the Marshland

Les Enfants du marais (The Children of the Marshland) is a 1999 French film directed by Jean Becker. It is an adaptation of Georges Montforez's 1958 novel of the same name, with Sébastien Japrisot and Georges Montforez credited as screenwriters. Blending drama and comedy, the film runs 115 minutes.

Jacques Villeret and Jacques Gamblin take the leading roles, alongside Michel Serrault, Jacques Boudet and Jacques Dufilho. Location shooting took place in France's Rhône-Alpes region, in the towns of Colomieu, Montmerle-sur-Saône, Trévoux and Cerdon. The film won the Grand Audience Award at the 1999 Sitges Film Festival.
