Quantum of Solace
Quantum of Solace is a 2008 spy film directed by Marc Forster and the twenty-second James Bond film produced by Eon Productions. Written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Paul Haggis as a direct sequel to 2006's Casino Royale, it marks Daniel Craig's second appearance as MI6 agent James Bond, alongside Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Gemma Arterton, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright and Giancarlo Giannini. The title is borrowed from a 1959 short story by Ian Fleming, though none of that story's content appears in the film.
In the story, Bond's search for the truth behind the betrayal and death of his beloved Vesper Lynd brings him together with Camille Montes, who seeks revenge for the murder of her own family. Their trail leads to Dominic Greene, a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmental entrepreneur while plotting a coup in Bolivia to seize control of the country's water supply. Filmed in Mexico, Panama, Chile, Italy, Austria and Wales with interiors built at Pinewood Studios, the film grossed over 589 million dollars worldwide.
