Making Plans for Lena

Making Plans for Lena (original title: Non ma fille, tu n'iras pas danser) is a 2009 French comedy-drama directed by Christophe Honoré. Inspired by Geneviève Brisac's novel Week-end de chasse à la mère, the screenplay was co-written by Brisac and Honoré, with Why Not Productions handling the production. The film opened in France on 2 September 2009.

The story follows Léna, a free-spirited woman struggling to stay afloat with her two children since separating from her husband Nigel. Feeling betrayed by a loving but intrusive family determined to make her happy at any cost, she is caught between her insistent mother, her gravely ill father, her moody sister, her indifferent brother, and her ex-husband — torn between rebellion and simply being herself. Chiara Mastroianni stars, alongside Marina Foïs, Marie-Christine Barrault, and Jean-Marc Barr.
