Line de parenté (Lien de parenté) (translated)
Lien de parenté is a French television drama film from 1986, directed by Willy Rameau and written by Didier Kaminka. Adapted from Oliver Lang's novel Next of Kin, it stars Jean Marais in the leading role.
The story follows Victor Blaise, an eccentric 72-year-old farmer who lives alone in a village in the south of France. His quiet existence is turned upside down when a telegram arrives from London with astonishing news: he is said to be the only living relative of a young delinquent, a grandson he has never met. The unexpected message forces the solitary old man to confront a family bond he never knew existed and changes the course of his life.
