La víctima número 8 is a 2018 Spanish conspiracy thriller series created by Sara Antuña and Marc Cistaré. Its single eight-episode season ran from 10 October to 28 November 2018 on ETB 2 and Telemadrid. The story opens with a jihadist terrorist attack in Bilbao's historic old town that leaves seven people dead and dozens wounded. As police work to track down those behind the bombing, the drama gives voice to both the victims and the perpetrators, showing how each side copes with the aftermath of the violence. The plot was inspired by the Barcelona attacks of August 2017. César Mateo, María de Nati and Verónika Moral headline the cast. The production was mounted by Mediapro through its companies Globomedia and K2000 in partnership with ETB and Telemadrid. Netflix picked up the international rights and brought the series to viewers worldwide on 16 August 2019.
