Julie the Redhead

Julie the Redhead (original title: Julie la Rousse) is a 1959 French comedy directed by Claude Boissol. The film stars Daniel Gélin, Pascale Petit and Margo Lion, with a supporting cast that includes Jacques Dufilho and Jacqueline Maillan. It was inspired by the popular song of the same name written by René-Louis Lafforgue. Shot in 1958, the picture was released in French cinemas the following year. Its sets were created by art director Robert Guisgand. Following the lighthearted tradition of French comedies of the period, the story builds its humor around the redheaded Julie celebrated in Lafforgue's song and the characters drawn into her orbit.
