Equilibrium (İsyan)

Equilibrium, released in Turkey as İsyan, is an American dystopian science fiction action film from 2002, written and directed by Kurt Wimmer. After a devastating Third World War, the authoritarian state of Libria decides that human feeling is the root of all conflict: emotions and art are banned, and every citizen must inject a daily drug that suppresses sensation, on pain of execution. Christian Bale stars as John Preston, a high-ranking clerical officer whose job is to track down those who dare to feel. One day he accidentally skips his dose, and as long-buried emotions flood back he starts questioning the system he has faithfully served. Gradually drawn to the underground resistance, Preston eventually turns the advanced fighting techniques the regime taught him against the dictatorship itself. Emily Watson, Taye Diggs, Sean Bean and Angus Macfadyen appear in supporting roles. A critical and box-office failure on release, the film has since attracted a devoted cult audience.
