I Love You All
Je vous aime (1980) is a French drama written and directed by Claude Berri. Catherine Deneuve plays Alice, a thirty-five-year-old lyricist with children and a string of lovers. She is drawn only to the beginnings of love, its fleeting moments of absolute bliss; once the passion fades she grows bored, suffers, causes suffering, and starts over again. During a Christmas party with her new partner Julien, she looks back on the highs and lows of the months she spent with her former lovers, two of whom happen to be among the guests that evening. The cast also includes Jean-Louis Trintignant, Gérard Depardieu, Serge Gainsbourg, who composed the music, and Alain Souchon. The film opened in France in December 1980.
