Bon Voyage
Bon Voyage is a 2016 drama short film written and directed by Marc Raymond Wilkins. A Swiss-Turkish co-production running 21 minutes, it is originally in German and set in the Mediterranean.
Jonas and Silvia, a couple on a sailing holiday, come across an overcrowded refugee boat on the verge of sinking in the night. Despite calling the coast guard, they lose sight of the vessel, and by morning it has sunk, leaving them drifting among the dead. After pulling a few Syrian survivors from the water, a tense clash unfolds between the holidaymakers' fears and the refugees' hopes. The film was one of eleven shorts shortlisted from 137 entries for Best Live Action Short Film at the 89th Academy Awards.
