Black Emanuelle
Black Emanuelle (original title: Emanuelle nera) is a 1975 Italian softcore sexploitation film directed by Bitto Albertini. Laura Gemser stars as Mae Jordan, a globe-trotting, hedonistic investigative journalist and photographer known to her readers as "Emanuelle". The story is set in Africa and was filmed mostly in Kenya, a location that helped justify the title despite the lead actress not being Black. The score was composed by Nico Fidenco. Loosely inspired by the French film Emmanuelle released a year earlier, it presents a heroine who is the opposite of that character: a strong, independent and sexually proactive woman moving among wealthy and powerful men. The film launched a long series of sequels following Emanuelle's erotic adventures around the world. The cast also includes Karin Schubert, Venantino Venantini, Angelo Infanti and Gabriele Tinti.
