The Handsome Fisherman (Balıkçı Güzeli)
Balıkçı Güzeli, internationally known as The Handsome Fisherman and also released as The 1002nd Night, is a 1953 Turkish adventure film directed by Baha Gelenbevi. The screenplay was written by the celebrated poet and author Nâzım Hikmet, with İhsan İpekçi serving as producer.
The film stars Cüneyt Gökçer, Ayten Çankaya and Münir Özkul, supported by an ensemble that includes Neşe Yulaç, Hayri Esen, Nezihe Becerikli, Ertuğrul Bilda, Orhan Boran, Gülderen Ece and Muzaffer Nebioğlu. Shot in Turkish, it is regarded as an example of Turkish adventure cinema of its era.
