Pirates of the Mediterranean (Akdeniz Korsanları) (translated)

Akdeniz Korsanları (Pirates of the Mediterranean) is a black-and-white Turkish adventure film from 1950, written and directed by Kadri Ögelman and produced by Turgut Demirağ for And Film, with cinematography by Cezmi Ar.

Set in the 15th century, the picture dramatizes the struggle between Ottoman seamen and the Knights of Malta, weaving through this historical conflict a romance between the sailor Davut and Maria, whose love story forms the emotional core of the plot.

The cast features Refik Kemal Arduman, Necdet Mahfi Ayral and Kadir Savun, with Daver Yüken as Davut and Muazzez Ülkerer as Maria; Yaşar Nezihi Özsoy, Adalet Pee and Şakir Arseven also appear.
