Action

Action is a 1980 Italian black comedy directed by Tinto Brass. Facing legal troubles in Italy over the production of Caligula, Brass shot the film in London in 1979. Stylistically it echoes his earlier avant-garde, low-budget works such as The Howl and Nerosubianco, and the screenplay was written by Brass together with Vincenzo Siniscalchi.

The story follows an actor afflicted with hero syndrome who suffers a nervous breakdown and flees town with an actress obsessed with playing Ophelia, only for both to end up locked in a mental asylum. After "Ophelia"'s suicide, the actor escapes the asylum alongside an anarchist patient. Luc Merenda and Paola Senatore star.
