The Eighth Hour (8. Saat)

8. Saat (The Eighth Hour) is a 1995 Turkish feature film written and directed by Cemal Gözütok. Sabahattin Çetin produced it for Belge Film, with Erhan Canan as cinematographer and Oğuz Abadan composing the score.

The story revolves around Sinan, a famous and wealthy architect, and Esra, a troubled woman he encounters. Seeking revenge, Esra gives herself a deadline of eight hours, at the end of which she intends to end her own life, forcing Sinan into a desperate race against the clock to stop her.

Zuhal Gencer, Osman Wöber and Özlem Savaş lead the cast, supported by Mahya Taşdöğen, Saim Yavuz, Parkan Özturan and Ajlan Aktuğ. At the 32nd Antalya Film Festival in 1995, Gencer received the Best Actress award for her performance, while Gözütok was honoured with the Sadri Alışık Award.
