Tita — Biography

Born Sidney Cristiano dos Santos on 20 July 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Tita is a 1.65-metre forward who began his playing career in Brazil with Ituano before moving to Turkish football.

He took Turkish citizenship in 2011 and adopted the name Melih Gökçek. Over the course of his career he played for clubs including Antalyaspor, Ankaragücü, Osmanlıspor and Mersin İdmanyurdu, joining Antalyaspor's squad on a permanent basis after an earlier loan spell there.

In 2018 he moved on to Gümüşhanespor and then Nevşehir Belediyespor, scoring his first goal for the latter club shortly after signing. He spent the later part of his playing career as a forward in Turkey's lower divisions.
