Timur Selçuk — Biography
Timur Selçuk (2 July 1946, Istanbul – 6 November 2020, Istanbul) was a Turkish composer, pianist, singer and conductor. He was the son of the celebrated singer and composer Münir Nurettin Selçuk.
After graduating from Galatasaray High School, he studied at the École Normale de Musique in Paris. Alongside performing his own songs, he composed music for theatre and cinema, scoring films such as Hakkari'de Bir Mevsim (1983), Mavi Sürgün (1993), Yaban (1996) and Abdülhamit Düşerken (2003).
He was named a State Artist in 1998 and received the Golden Orange Best Music Award. He died in Istanbul on 6 November 2020.
