Timuçin Şahin — Biography

Timuçin Şahin, born on 3 February 1973, is a Turkish jazz guitarist and composer who has built an international reputation in contemporary jazz. He won first prize at the Dutch Jazz Competition in 2001 and took second prize at both the Jur Naessens Music Award in 2002 and the Deloitte Jazz Award in 2006.

Over the course of his career he has released five albums, spanning solo work as well as recordings with the contemporary jazz trio On the Line, the Timuçin Şahin Quartet and the Timuçin Şahin Quintet. Şahin has also continued to perform at jazz festivals held in various cities across Turkey.
