Teaira McCowan — Biography
Teaira McCowan was born on 28 September 1996 in Bryan, Texas, and later acquired Turkish citizenship alongside her American nationality. She played college basketball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, where she was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and won the WBCA Defensive Player of the Year award. Selected by the Indiana Fever in the 2019 WNBA draft, she went on to play in the league for the Minnesota Lynx as well.
In Turkey she has played for Galatasaray and ÇBK Mersin before joining Fenerbahçe Opet in October 2025. Competing in EuroLeague Women and the Turkish Women's Basketball Super League, she helped her club win the 2025-26 Women's Presidential Cup and remained part of the roster that reached the league final in the spring of 2026.
