Tarık Çamdal — Biography

Tarık Çamdal's route runs from German amateur football to one of Turkey's biggest clubs: a full-back raised in Bavaria, he joined Galatasaray in 2014 for a high transfer fee after his breakthrough at Eskişehirspor, and was also called up to the Turkish national team. He now plays for Türk Garching in Germany's amateur Kreisliga.

He started playing at five at a Turkish club where his father worked as a manager and coach, joined a regional selection at 12 and moved to 1860 München in 2003 at 13. He also played for Germany's youth sides. In his first official match for 1860 München's senior side he scored twice, but he found few opportunities there in later years. In September 2011 he moved to Eskişehirspor for 300,000 euros. He spent his first season in the A2 team; he became a regular at right back under Ersun Yanal and at left back under Ertuğrul Sağlam in 2013-14. Although he joined Galatasaray in 2014, he did not meet expectations and his contract was ended by mutual agreement in January 2019. He then played for Antalyaspor, Adana Demirspor, Göztepe and Sarıyer.

For the national team he scored the goal in a 2-1 win over the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, Turkey's first victory on Irish soil.
