Tardu Flordun — Biography

Tardu Flordun was born on 25 May 1972 in Ankara, the son of veteran actor Macit Flordun; his name comes from Tarduş Kağan, son of the Göktürk prince İstemi Yabgu. In 1995 he graduated top of his class, scoring 96, from Hacettepe University's State Conservatory Theatre Department; he then worked as a company actor at the Ankara State Theatres (1995-1997) and İzmit City Theatres (1997-2008), taking lead roles in Hamlet and Roberto Zucco. He made his screen debut in the 1996 series Kara Melek, appeared in the 1998 film Leoparın Kuyruğu, and took his first TV lead in Evdeki Yabancı (2000), opposite Berna Laçin.

He became known for playing pop star Tarcan in Davetsiz Misafir (2005), Kerem İnceoğlu in the internationally watched series Binbir Gece (2006-2009), and for the film Sis ve Gece, adapted from Ahmet Ümit's novel; he later played Dr. Metin Utku in Parmaklıklar Ardında, Türkan Saylan's son Çağlayan in the 2011 biopic Türkan, and Red Kit in Behzat Ç.: Seni Kalbime Gömdüm. In 2014 he won Best Actor of the Year at the Afife Theatre Awards for Kim Korkar Hain Kurttan?, and appeared that year in the international film Consequences. He has continued his three-decade career with recent work including Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz and Gizli Saklı.
