Taner Demirbaş — Biography

Taner Demirbaş (born 20 November 1978 in Araklı) is a Turkish former professional footballer. A native of the Araklı district of Trabzon province, he played as a forward and spent most of his career in the second and third tiers of Turkish football.

His reputation rests on his scoring record. He finished as top scorer of the TFF First League twice in succession: in 2005-06, shared with Ufuk Ateş, and again outright in 2006-07. Those consecutive titles rank him among the most prolific second-division marksmen of the 2000s, and the eventual breaking of his goalscoring record years later was itself reported by the Turkish sports press in 2024.

At club level he signed for Sakaryaspor in 2014 and closed out his playing days with Adıyamanspor, having previously appeared for a succession of clubs across the Turkish league system.
