Tamer Yiğit — Biography

Born Tamer Özyiğitoğlu on January 19, 1942, in Balıkesir, he studied at the İzmir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences before breaking into acting after winning a competition run by a film magazine.

Active in Yeşilçam's high-output era from the 1960s onward, Yiğit appeared in films including Hepimiz Kardeşiz (1965), Şekerli misin Vay Vay (1965), Bir Çuval Para (1970), Acımak (1970), Beş Hergele (1971) and Kızgın Toprak (1973). His career extended beyond acting into screenwriting and production, and he also took a role in the Dutch series Mocro Maffia (2018), an international credit.

He later appeared in the popular series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu and in the 2010 remake of Ayrılık, before reaching a wide audience playing Ertuğrul Gazi in the historical adventure series Kuruluş: Osman.
