Taha Can Velioğlu — Biography
Taha Can Velioğlu, born on 21 February 1994 in Sakarya, is a Turkish footballer who plays as a centre-back. He started out on neighbourhood pitches, encouraged by his uncles, who had played football themselves. At eight he enrolled in Bursaspor's football school, and the following year he took part in trials against older boys and was picked by the team's coaches, which began his Bursaspor career. In the youth sides he first played in midfield, scoring 3 goals in 26 matches at U-16 and 6 in 62 for the A2 team.
He signed a professional contract in 2010-11. On 26 January 2011 he came on for Serdar Aziz in a Turkish Cup match against Kasımpaşa, becoming the fifth-youngest player ever to appear for Bursaspor. His Süper Lig debut came on 19 May 2013 against Gençlerbirliği, when Hikmet Karaman gave him the full 90 minutes. Out of Karaman's plans, he signed a two-year deal with Bucaspor before 2013-14 and scored in his first match.
Later he won the First League title with Denizlispor in 2019, signed with Bucaspor in 2020 and Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor in 2023, and also played for Eyüpspor. He rejoined Bursaspor for 2024-25 and was part of the club's 3. Lig title in 2025; the two parted ways in July 2025. He now plays for Arnavutköy Belediyespor. As a youth he was called up to Turkey national sides from U-15 to U-20.
