Sıla Şahin — Biography

Sıla Şahin-Radlinger was born on 3 December 1985 in the Spandau district of West Berlin, the daughter of a Turkish-Kurdish actor. She became widely known in Germany for playing Ayla Özgül on the long-running soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. Fluent in German, Kurdish, Turkish and English, she has combined acting with a modeling career, and in May 2011 became the first woman of Turkish descent to appear on the cover of the German edition of Playboy, a move that reportedly created tension within her family.

Over the years she has taken part in the German dance competition Let's Dance and appeared in further television roles, and in 2017 her life story was adapted into a television film for the public broadcaster ZDF. She is married to Austrian goalkeeper Samuel Radlinger and continues to live and work in Germany.
