Shirley Hubertina Maria Adriana Kocaçınar was born on 4 December 1986 in Heerlen, the Netherlands. Holding both Dutch and Turkish citizenship, she built her football career as a forward, most notably wearing the colors of Fortuna Sittard, and has also been active in futsal.
Choosing to represent Turkey at international level, Kocaçınar made her debut for the Turkish women's national football team in 2011. In the years that followed she featured in several matches against opponents such as Greece and Portugal, representing Turkey on the international stage.
