Seyit Cem Ünsal — Biography
Seyit Cem Ünsal (born 9 October 1975 in Sarıoğlan, Kayseri Province) is a Turkish former footballer. He played mainly as a forward, though some sources describe him as a midfielder.
In Turkey he appeared for clubs including Kayserispor, Altay, Batman Petrolspor, Şanlıurfaspor, Trabzonspor, Gençlerbirliği, Vanspor and Kocaelispor. Abroad he is credited with two firsts: he was the first Turkish player to join Barcelona in Spain and the first to play for a Seoul-based club in South Korea.
Those distinctions brought his name back into circulation years later when Arda Turan signed for Barcelona; Ünsal said at the time that he took pride in seeing a Turkish player wear the Barcelona shirt.
