Semih Erden — Biography
Born on 28 July 1986 in Istanbul, Semih Erden built a career as a 2.13 m center and became one of Turkish basketball's familiar faces. Selected 60th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA draft, he played in the NBA for Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics between 2010 and 2012, and also turned out for clubs including Partizan, Fenerbahçe, and Darüşşafaka; with the national team he won multiple international silver medals.
Erden announced his retirement from professional basketball in 2024–2025. In early 2026 he remained connected to the sport, joining former national teammate Harun Erdenay at the FIBA U17 World Cup draw ceremony.
