Sema Meray — Biography
Sema Meray (born 26 February 1968 in Mersin) is a Turkish-German actress and author. Born in Mersin, Turkey, she grew up in Germany, where she built her career on stage and screen. She reached a wider audience in 1998 when she took over the role of Helga Schrader in the WDR television series Die Anrheiner, a part she kept until 2003. She has also appeared occasionally in Lindenstraße as Aunt Hatice.
Beyond television, Meray works as a theatre actress, writer and voice dubbing artist. In 2008 she performed in the play Wegen der Ehre alongside Vedat Erincin, directed by Till Rickelt in Cologne, a production in which her daughter Lilli Hollunder also appeared. She is involved in efforts to preserve the Mor Gabriel Monastery in Turkey. In early 2014 she married Hubertus, Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, with whom she lives at Strauweiler Castle in Odenthal. Her screen credits include the film Evet, ich will! (2008).
