Selma Alispahić — Biography

Selma Alispahić is a Bosnian stage and film actress, born in Tuzla when it was part of Yugoslavia. She began on the stage of her home country, and on screen she has now been working for more than thirty years, in Bosnian productions and in international projects.

Her filmography reaches back to the 1990s: it starts with the television production Memoari porodice Milić (1991) and the television film Bliss (1995), and continues with the films Elgars Tenth Muse (1996) and Milky Way (2000) and the short Igraj do kraja. In the 2010s she appeared in the television production Bez rizika, the short Priča bez kraja and the films Broken Mussels and A Stranger.

Her films connected to Turkey are Selam (2013) and Geçmişteki Sır (2017). In Selam she played Almir's mother; in Geçmişteki Sır she shared the cast with Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Haldun Boysan and Meral Çetinkaya. More recently she has taken roles in Jack Ryan (2022) and I Know Your Soul (2023).
