Sedat Yüce — Biography

Sedat Yüce is a singer, trumpeter and music producer from İzmir, best known for representing Turkey at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest. His entry Sevgiliye Son placed eleventh in Copenhagen with 41 points. Today he performs in a trio with Evrim Özkaynak and Zafer Çebi and takes part in programmes interpreting Anatolian folk music.

He started out singing backing vocals for Şebnem Özsaran, who competed in the 1993 Turkish Eurovision final. The following years were a series of attempts: he reached the national final in 1996 with Vazgeç and in 1999 with Bırak Beni but won neither. The turning point came in 2001, when at composer Semih Güneri's suggestion he sang Sevgiliye Son and won the national final of 23 February by expert-jury vote. At the contest on 12 May he performed fifteenth in the running order.

After Eurovision he won the 2nd Megahit International Mediterranean Song Contest in Fethiye in 2003 with Nereye Kadar, and in 2005 he entered the national final once more with Yeniden without winning. In 2011 he was eliminated in the preliminary stage of O Ses Türkiye. In 2012 he opened an arts centre. He studied at Dokuz Eylül University, and in April 2026 it was announced that he would perform Anatolian folk songs on the Presidential Symphony Orchestra's Ada stage in Ankara.
