Seçkin Piriler — Biography

Seçkin Piriler is a Turkish model, presenter, singer, and actress born in Istanbul on December 29, 1980. The daughter of luthier Süreyya Piriler, she began her career on the runway and went on to become a versatile figure, working in fields as varied as music, television presenting, film, and fashion design.

Her name first became known in 1998, when she took part in the Elite Model Look competition and was chosen runner-up behind Azra Akın. Beginning her professional modeling career through the door this competition opened, Piriler appeared in fashion shows for brands such as Beymen, Marks & Spencer, Vakko, Dice Kayek, and Donna Karan. Her runway and advertising work made her one of Turkey's well-known models in the early 2000s.

She gave concrete form to her interest in music in 2003 with the release of the album Kırmızı Pabuçlar, becoming known as a singer as well. Around the same time she appeared in the music video for Kenan Doğulu's song Kime Ne. Her on-screen work was not limited to music: she hosted a music program on Number One TV, as well as a film program called Cinecinema; the Turkcell Hazır Kart commercial in which she appeared alongside Okan Bayülgen also reached a wide audience.

She stepped into acting in the mid-2000s with supporting roles in popular Turkish comedy film series. Her film career, which began with Hababam Sınıfı Askerde, continued with Hababam Sınıfı Üç Buçuk, Maskeli Beşler: İntikam Peşinde, and Çılgın Dershane. Reaching a wide audience, these productions are among her best-known work on the big screen.

After training at the Istanbul Fashion Academy, Piriler turned to designing clothing collections while also continuing her television work. On March 24, 2010, she married Kaan Tangöze, lead singer of the band Duman, with whom she had been together for four years; the couple had two sons, Hakan and Volkan. Piriler and Tangöze divorced by mutual consent in a single hearing on March 11, 2016.
