Şaziye İvegin — Biography
Şaziye İvegin (born 8 February 1982 in Adana) is a retired Turkish national basketball player who competed at small forward and stands 1.85 m tall. The daughter of a basketball player, she took up the sport in middle school on the same day as her two younger sisters; the three played together for the Adana-based club Botaş SK, won the Turkish Girls' Basketball League title twice, and İvegin became one of the country's youngest women's team captains at age 22.
After ten seasons with Botaş, İvegin transferred to Fenerbahçe in May 2004 and that same season helped the Turkish national team win gold at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería, Spain; later in her career she also played for Beşiktaş. Alongside basketball, she studied business administration at Anadolu University.
Following her playing career, İvegin moved into sports administration, taking charge of the Turkish Basketball Federation's women's national teams in February 2022. She also became widely known to the public after appearing on the reality competition Survivor in 2020.
