Salih Bora — Biography
Born on August 23, 1953, in Tirebolu, Giresun, Salih Bora is a notable figure in Turkish Greco-Roman wrestling. Competing in the paperweight division, he won silver medals at three world championships (1977, 1981 and 1982), took part in the 1976 and 1984 Summer Olympics, and finished fourth at the 1984 Los Angeles Games. He studied at Marmara University during his competitive years, cutting a small but formidable figure on the mat at just 1.51 meters tall.
After retiring from active competition, Bora moved into coaching, serving for many years as head coach of Turkey's Greco-Roman wrestling national team. In that role he built squads aimed at Olympic and world championship medals and regularly met with university students to promote the sport of wrestling.
