Rıza Tuyuran — Biography

Rıza Tuyuran (born 25 August 1960 in Istanbul) is a former Turkish footballer who played as a forward and went on to work as a manager. His playing years were spent in the Turkish leagues, and his name is most often associated with football in İzmir, particularly the Karşıyaka scene.

After retiring he moved into coaching, working mainly with lower-division clubs in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. He took charge of Aliağaspor in the summer of 2007 and was manager of Tarsus İdmanyurdu in 2017.

In interviews with the regional sports press he consistently argued for a combative approach to the game, summed up in his remark that a side loses only once it gives up.
