Reynmen — Biography

Reynmen, born Yusuf Aktaş on 6 December 1995 in the Bağcılar district of Istanbul, is a Turkish singer and internet celebrity. His father, of Azerbaijani Karapapak descent, comes from Gürün in Sivas, while his mother is of Kurdish origin. He completed high school through open education and studied Radio and Television Programming; before becoming famous, he sold fruit and vegetables at a wholesale market alongside his father. Comedian Cem Yılmaz and writer Can Yılmaz are relatives on his mother's side.

Aktaş first attracted attention through his videos on the app Scorp, then moved to YouTube, where his channel grew into one of the most-subscribed in Turkey. His music career took off in January 2019 with Derdim Olsun, and that summer Ela became one of the country's most-watched videos. In 2019 he founded his own music company, Houze Istanbul, through which he released the EP RnBesk. In 2020 he issued Kaçamak with German-Turkish rapper Ufo361 and Melek on his 25th birthday, later collaborating with artists such as Sefo, Zeynep Bastık, Soolking and Semicenk. On 11 October 2024 he married his longtime partner Emire Cansu Kurtaran in Italy. On 31 January 2026 he was detained as part of a narcotics investigation and released the same day under a travel ban.
