Reşit Kaynak — Biography

Reşit Kaynak (12 August 1952, Adana – 26 March 1999, Bursa) was a Turkish professional footballer who played as a forward in the Süper Lig, most notably with Adanaspor. Nicknamed "Süper Reşit," he was regarded as one of the most prolific strikers of Turkish football during the 1970s and 1980s and earned a handful of caps for the Turkey national team.

He belonged to the Kaynak family, a branch of the long-established Kocadurmuşlar lineage that traced its roots from Kayseri to the Çukurova region and adopted the Kaynak surname after Turkey's Surname Law. Football ran in the family: several of his brothers, including Kayhan, Orhan, İrfan, İlhan, and Ayhan Kaynak, also became professional players, and multiple family members shared a hereditary heart condition.

Reşit Kaynak died of a heart attack in Bursa on 26 March 1999 at the age of 46, the first in a series of cardiac-related deaths that would affect several of his siblings in the following decades.
