Recep Yener — Biography
Recep Yener was born on 2 November 1958 in Kütahya. He was recognized as a stage and film actor with a career spanning many years in Turkish theatre and cinema.
One of his best-known screen roles was as Hoca in the 2006 film Dondurmam Gaymak (Ice Cream, I Scream); he is also remembered for playing Adem in Entelköy Efeköy'e Karşı and for his performance in the television series Leyla and Mecnun. Üç, İki, Bir... Kestik! (2014), often cited as his final film, also dates from this period of his career.
Recep Yener died in Istanbul on 2 November 2014 — the same date as his birth — and his loss was deeply mourned within Turkey's theatre and film community.
